Back to Japan Town
It’s the annual Cherry Blossom Festival at San Francisco Japan Town. We try to go every year to get our fill of the teriburgers, bbq ribs, takoyaki, crepes, red bean cakes, spam musubi, draft beer, and most importantly, Hello Kitty carnival games. We learn from our last visit to Japan Town and come prepared with extra diapers, wipes, and changes of clothes for Connor. With all the packing, we get out of the house pretty late. Street parking is usually a nightmare, but we get lucky and find a spot about two blocks away right when we arrive. Connor is fast asleep and we are careful not to wake him when putting him in the stroller. Success! We make our rounds through the food booths and fill up on our favorites. Not a peep comes from Connor. After eating, we make our way to the Hello Kitty carnival games. We arrive just after closing, but the nice lady behind the counter sells us tickets to play the games anyways. Vivian goes to work and wins an assortment of Hello Kitty prizes. Connor, meanwhile, sleeps through the whole trip. What a difference from the last time we came to Japan Town!
Fun on the Boppy
The Great Easter Egg Hunt
With plenty of space for kids to run around and Easter eggs to be hidden, my mom’s newly landscaped backyard was a huge success for the Easter egg hunt. I have a feeling this is going to turn into an annual tradition. Maybe next year Connor will be able to join in on the fun.
